Nicki Minaj’s husband whose name is Kenneth Petty is now facing home confinement for failing to do expected. He ought to register as a sex offender as demanded by the court. But he didn’t. The news spread online after a co-representatives of he federal prosecutor’s office made it known.

Doubling his sentence, Nicki’s husband didn’t only receive home confinement as a sex offender, but he was sentenced to three-year probation with a fine of $55,000. The report came through the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California. Meanwhile, the office had no further comment yet.

Kenneth Petty pleaded guilty back in September to one count of failure because he still didn’t register as a sex offender. He was convicted of first-degree attempted rape in New York back in 1995 when he was 16. That’s why he pleaded guilty and asked to register as an offender which he didn’t.

Kenneth Petty dodged signing himself as a convict in 2019. He tried moving along with his wife Nicki Minaj to California. But during a traffic check, authorities were able to identify that Kenneth Petty is moving into California after not registering as demanded by U.S authorities. In March 2020, Kenneth Petty was then indicted.

A year in home confinement should be a relief to Petty as prosecutors had called for him to spend 15 months in prison.

Judge Michael Fitzgerald said in the sentencing hearing that given the less severe nature compared to other cases of sex offenders failing to register if they move, combined with the strain another prisoner would have on the prison system in the middle of a surge in Covid cases, prison wasn’t the way to handle the case, reports Rollingstone.

Prosecutors are not happy seeing Kenneth Petty under home confinement with extravagant living. They want him to spend 15 months in prison rather than at home citing a six-bedroom, seven-bathroom home in Calabasas with a pool. Although Petty served nearly four years in prison after the New York attempted rape conviction.

The woman who is behind all the sentences against Kenneth is Jennifer Hough. In September 2021, she had an interview with The Real and there she talked about how they tried to bride her and the family. Watch the interview below.
