Westside Gunn retiring from rap this year being 2023. To Gunn, he thinks it’s time to stop rapping. He’s not taking a break as 50 Cent said but Gunn who has been more active since last has a little run to accomplish this year. Then after he will retire and face other related ventures outside of hip-hop.
Over the past years, we have seen rappers saying that they will be retiring. One of the is The Game. He once said he will retire after his album Born 2 Rap. But he later confirmed in 2021 that he was no longer going to do that, he will continue rapping and just last year he released DRILLMATIC.
Meanwhile, in Westside Gunn’s case, the Griselda member has also confirmed that after 2023 he will be distancing himself from hip-hop mic. That was just last month he made it known that his rap career is ending this year. If Lil Wayne already said rappers don’t retire, they take a break, then Gunn’s recent post on. Twitter has different stuff to order. Take a look below.
“23’ def my last year doing this shit, I don’t have nothing else 2prove, I put my team on, I put my city on, I worked w/everybody I ever wanted to work with, plus MFs still don’t even understand 1-10, FLYGOD, Awesome GOD, or Pray for Paris(mind u Virgil did the cover) im the”
Westside Gunn is very proud of himself. He convinced himself of having the best fortunes which he dreamed of. Retiring won’t cost him anything since his deeds for hip-hop remains unchanged. From his Twitter post, Gunn is very sure that he is retiring without doubts behind it.
“I know I say I’m a retire all the time so ppl might be like he always say this, seriously I been thru so much with this sh*t behind closed doors y’all would never know, it’s brought more pain than joy I’m just so G that I make it look super easy but I fight these devils everyday.”
Well, not all fans are happy about this retirement action of Gunn. Some want him to remain relevant to the culture but the Peppas rapper said he not going. Westside Gunn’s last album 10 was released back in August 2022. Since then he has been busy promoting the album videos.
