“My Stutter Was Cured By Rapping Eminem’s Songs” Ed Sheeran Reveals
Grammy Award-winning singer Ed Sheeran has disclosed that his stuttering was cured by rapping to Emimen’s songs.
Reminiscing on the past, he revealed that he developed a stutter after undergoing surgery for the removal of a birthmark from his face. He said stutter seized “By learning that record and rapping it back to back to back to back, it cured my stutter.”
Back in 2015, the bad habit crooner revealed that he had a speech at the American Institute for Stuttering’s Freeing Voices Changing Lives Benefit Gala.
He said,” I had a port-wine stain birthmark on my face that I got lasered off when I was very young, and one day they forgot to put the anesthetic on, and then ever since then I had a stutter.”
However, in a recent interview with Howard Stern, he revealed that Eminem’s album was gifted to him and that was the antidote to his stutter.
On the show, he said, “When I was nine, my uncle bought me The Marshall Mathers LP, and he just said to my dad, ‘This guy’s the next Bob Dylan, you gotta let him listen,’” he said. “My dad didn’t really clock it. He was just like, ‘Okay, Edward’s gonna go and listen to that.’ And by learning that record and rapping it back to back to back to back, it cured my stutter.”
The 32-year-old singer has confirmed that he has shared his story with Eminem. Moreover, last month the superstar faced trial over the copyrights of the popular Mavin Gaye’s song “Let’s get it on”. Fortunately, the singer emerged victorious and is on to achieve greater feats.
