Latto and BTS star Jung Kook came together and gave us a song titled SEVEN and that was in July just five days ago. They dropped the track as a collaboration, and boom it become Billboard No. 1 on Hot 100.

A song debuting No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100 is well welcomed globally but the over-happiness is that Latto is now the first female rapper to have a rap song debut on Billboard Hot 100 in 2023. She just beat Nicki Minaj, Cardi B and more female rappers who have released new rap songs in 2023.

Billboard has noted the upbeat, dancefloor-friendly song soared to the top spot thanks to 21.9 million streams, 6.4 million in airplay audience and 153,000 combined digital and CD singles in its opening week.

It marks the first No. 1 single for both Latto and Jung Kook, with the former’s previous best coming in April 2022 with “Big Energy,” which peaked at No. 3. She currently has one other song on the Hot 100 with her Cardi B-assisted “Put It On Da Floor Again,” which sits at No. 42.

Latto, the first female rapper with a No. 1 song on Billboard Hot 100 has been doing super great. While we hope to see more new female rap songs behind her “SEVEN” song, Latto and Jung Kook are simply doing great at their spot right now.

Checking her Instagram, she has already confirmed it just after Billboard confirmed it as well. Since the debut of the song, she has been so happier because it wasn’t easy for her to reach such a peak.

According to DX, Latto and Jung Kook’s song “Seven” marks an end to Hip Hop’s curious lack of a No. 1 single in 2023 after spending the last half-decade as the most popular genre of music in the U.S., statistically speaking.

Female rappers who have been making hot hits since this year include Latto, Ice Spice Nicki Minaj and more. However, more songs are coming probably female rap songs. Latto the first female rapper with a No. 1 song on Billboard Hot 100 made history in 2023.
