Meek Mill Calls Out his Engineer over Beyoncé “INSANE” Comments
One of the engineers who contributed to Meek Mill Championships album has come under fire for suggesting that he ought to have worked with JAY-Z and Beyoncé instead.
In an interview on the TmrO Network, Anthony Cruz—who has collaborated with Meek Mill in addition to artists like J. Cole and DJ Khaled—stated that he wished he had opted out of the Championships recording sessions in favour of another chance.
Cruz acknowledged that he now wishes he had accepted Young Guru’s invitation to contribute to Hov and Beyoncé’s 2018 collaborative album Everything Is Love.
“I remember Guru calling me during the time they were working on the Beyoncé and Hov album, saying, ‘Come to Paris for a couple weeks.'” “I called it the Championships because we had just begun the very, very beginning of what would become Championships.
That’s a heavy load for me to bear and manage. I would say, “Go to Paris, bro,” to a young person rising up beneath me.
Given that they have known each other for more than ten years and that the rapper from “Dreams and Nightmares” gave the engineer his break, Meek Mill took offence at the remarks and attacked Cruz for his betrayal.
He posted on X, saying, “I love Cruz, but this is bad advice.” Triple platinum championships… Cruz was the store runner when we first met. I needed an engineer, so I started working with him every day. I find it crazy that you would wake up and go see Jay Z and Beyoncé, but it’s a whole other world.
