Apparently taking a cue from Beyoncé, Rihanna channeled her inner cowgirl for a recent Vogue China picture session.

On Tuesday, March 26, the Bajan beauty made her debut as the magazine’s newest cover star. She can be seen wearing a mariachi jacket and a bejeweled cowboy hat.

RiRi dons a number of distinct looks for the remainder of the photo shoot, which was taken by Chinese photographer Hailun Ma. These looks “explor[e] beauty in individuality through a range of cultural lenses and creative disciplines.”

“Rihanna artfully blends cowgirl fashion, featuring pieces from up-and-coming Chinese designers like CPLUS Series, with custom Louis Vuitton by Pharrell, accompanied by daringly avant-garde hair and makeup looks that she herself art directs,” the magazine continues.

Shortly after Rihanna announced that her billion-dollar Fenty beauty business will be making its way to China, the cover appears.

The singer is shown in the artwork seated sideways atop a charging white horse, carrying an American flag, and wearing a leather suit with the words “COWBOY CARTER” sashred in red, white, and blue.

“Today is the tenth day of the countdown until Act II’s release. She wrote in the image’s caption, “I am so grateful to everyone who has supported Texas Hold ‘EM and 16 Carries.
