Megan Thee Stallion signs new deal with Warner music group. She has locked in a new distribution deal with a major label while technically remaining independent.

On December 12 (Tuesday). Billboardreported that the Houston Hottie will be working with Warner Music Group. To disperse her material moving forward. This is not a standard record deal. Instead, Megan keeps ownership of her music while being able to use WMG’s infrastructure.

In addition to the boost from WMG’s global reach. Megan’s team will consist of employees at 300 Entertainment. Whom she worked with as part of her previous deal.

In late October, the 28-year-old and her former label finally put their legal dispute to rest. After landing on an agreement. Attorneys representing 1501 Certified Entertainment announced that both parties involved had “mutually reached a confidential settlement to resolve their legal differences.” Marking her official release from a deal she once described as “unconscionable.”

“Both Megan and 1501 are pleased to put this matter behind them and move forward with the next chapter of their respective businesses.” The imprint wrote in a statement wishing her the best on her future endeavors.

The exact terms of the settlement have not been disclosed.

The week prior, the “WAP” hitmaker revealed that she’s officially without a label and that she’ll be footing the bill for her new album. On an Instagram Live stream, Meg revealed that she is independent for the first time since “it was just me and my mama.”

“I have no label right now, we’re doing everything funded straight out of Megan Thee Stallion’s pocket,” she said. “The next shit y’all about to see about to be all straight from Megan Thee Stallion, Megan Thee Stallion brain, Megan Thee Stallion wallet.”
