Kanye West saga continue to develop against him. He has been under fire lately and his comment about George Floyd’s death is not escaping this time around.

Now, the mother of George Floyd’s daughter has filed a $250 million lawsuit against Kanye West for the false statements he made on the Drink Champs podcast.

Floyd’s family issued a cease-and-desist letter to Ye for his comments regarding the man’s 2020 death at the hands of Minneapolis police that sparked a global movement against police brutality, according to a news release from Witherspoon Law Group and Dixon & Dixon Attorneys at Law and as reported by Click2Houston.

Dr. Andrew Baker, the chief medical examiner for Hennepin County, said that while Floyd’s heart condition and fentanyl maybe factors in his death, the primary cause was how Officer Derek Chauvin pressed his knee down on Floyd’s neck for 9 1/2 minutes as he kept telling officers “I can’t breathe.”

In a news release that discusses the lawsuit filed, the mother of Gianna Floyd, lawyers said Kanye made “false statements about George Floyd’s death to promote his brands, and increase marketing value and revenue for himself, his business partners, and associates.” It also alleges that the rapper stated “malicious falsehoods” about Floyd in order to profit from his death and the family’s trauma.

As reported earlier, the full interview has since been removed from the Drink Champs YouTube and Revolt TV.
