Wiz Khalifa Let Cardi B Know There’s No “Wiz-Cardi” War
Wiz Khalifa and Kendrick Lamar are almost same blood who avoid social media with whatever it takes to keep off-limit. Sure he’s more inactive beefing around hip-hop community and latest Grammys Awards can’t drag him and Cardi B into cold war.
Grammys Awards 2021 has left slew of artists wondering how transparency turned to inconsistency, like this isn’t the Grammys we knew. The Weeknd, Drake , Nicki Minaj, Lil Baby and more have took a deep dive calling out the Grammys 2021 Nominations after it was announced on Tuesday, Nov. 24. Fans took to Twitter to reflect on some of the biggest snubs of the year and in Grammys history.
If there’s another proactive rapper who’s shooting his shot, then Wiz Khalifa is pretty shading the Grammys though detective folks on Twitter goes up in words after the Promise rapper commented, ” I known how it feels” to be overlooked by the Recording Academy. A fan responded on Twitter, “cardi wining a Grammy when nicki minaj didn’t is the biggest proof that they don’t know a s–t bout music.”
Wiz weighed in: “Most self made artists have this problem,” which Twitter users took to mean that Cardi B isn’t self made.
His comment chimed in following Nicki Minaj who already double-down on how the Grammys didn’t give her the best new artist award.
“Never forget the Grammys didn’t give me my best new artist award when I had 7 songs simultaneously charting on Billboard & bigger first week than any female rapper in the last decade—went on to inspire a generation,” she wrote. “They gave it to the white man Bon Iver.”
Fans on Twitter have took to dimension claiming Wiz is indirectly saying Cardi B isn’t self-made. Cardi B later hopped in to respond to Wiz Khalifa for trying to pit between her and Nicki Minaj. She believed Nicki and her has already established terms and seeing Wiz Khalifa blinking twice before switching sides could be incendiary.
Cardi B in her response to Wiz Khalifa, she exposed him by sharing screenshots of apparent DMs from Wiz from 2016. “They really support you when you grinding at the bottom then it’s a different story when you make it,” she wrote. The DM showed him encouraging a younger Cardi by saying “Keep your light shining” and “Don’t stray away from the things that are important to you.”
“entertain tweets that pit successful women against each other,” adding, “Ya not tired of that? Specially when ya was rooting hard when a bitch was at the bottom,” as she double-tweet.
However, Wiz Khalifa did caught the wind but still advise he meant no harm to Cardi B. Main looking at his tweet he appreciates Cardi B by saying, “Damn that wuz good advice. I still support u. Nothings changed. Your self made in my book as well.”
He also said, “I just don’t want a Cardi/ Wiz war goin on for no reason.”
