Swizz Beatz Regained Verzuz Ownership With A Comeback Pledge
During a monumental announcement at the 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards. Swizz Beatz regained VERZUZ ownership with Timbaland. He also made a strong comeback pledge.
Timbaland, in his own words, said…
“Me and my brother created something special, and it ain’t over,” Timbo declared. “Black-owned Verzuz, me and Swizz Beatz. I’m glad to share this with my brother”.
Although, Swizz Beatz reinforced the sentiment, stating…
“Like Tim said, we own Verzuz again. We got quiet for a minute, but we’re gonna come back strong and show you what it is. That wasn’t just something for the pandemic; that’s something for the world”.
Previously. Swizz Beatz and Timbaland had joined forces with Triller. This helped them to become significant shareholders in 2021.
However. A $28 million lawsuit was filed against the company in August 2022. It alleged that Triller failed to meet their financial obligations.
Also. Court documents revealed that Triller defaulted on its agreement. It did after just two payments. And this led to a legal battle.
After Swizz Beatz regained ownership of VERZUZ. Timbaland recently hinted at a promising future, assuring fans of exciting matchups and swift returns.
Furthermore. He shared…
“Verzuz is still a baby. It was something that was built in the pandemic that’s now a household name. To make it have the longevity that we need, we have to reorganize the ship”.
Swizz Beatz echoed this sentiment, promising a spectacular Season 3 in 2023.
In conclusion. He revealed that the Verzuz platform’s infrastructure was evolving, and a fantastic lineup awaited fans.
“We have a fantastic lineup with people they wanted to see and even battles they think wouldn’t happen. Announcements will be coming soon”.
With Swizz Beatz and Timbaland taking the reins once again. Verzuz is poised to make a triumphant return and also continue its cultural impact.
Stay tuned for more updates on the revitalized Verzuz experience.
