LIL WAYNE AND WHEEZY TO COLLABORATE ON NEW PROJECT
Lil Wayne and Wheezy have stated that they are working on new music titled Weezy vs. Wheezy.
The project, due to drop on April 4, will see the Young Money CEO collaborate with the 2019 Producer of the Year.
Though it is yet unclear whether the collaboration would take the form of a complete album, EP, or just a single, Universal Music Group has provided pre-save links for Apple and Spotify.
News of the Lil Wayne vs. Wheezy collaboration is sure to excite certain fans, though Ebro Darden may not be one of them.
On the newest episode of Apple Music’s Rap Life Review, the radio personality and music executive advocated for more songs from Wayne, Drake, and Nicki Minaj.
“I think we’re owed as Hip Hop fans a collab Drake/Wayne album,” that’s what he said. “Or simply an EP. Alternatively, a Drake/Wayne/Nicki with seven and five joints, respectively. Something. I believe it is love [between Drake and Nicki]. When the schedules coincide, all is OK. “She had him on her album, you know?”
In the early 2010s, the three giants were inseparable, but they made fewer and fewer public appearances together as Nicki and Drake’s careers took off.
For the third and final night of Drizzy’s October World Weekend festival, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, and Drake performed together for the first time in nearly a decade at Toronto’s Budweiser Stage in August 2022.
