Dr. Dre ‘The Chronic’ is Now Available On Streaming Platforms
This is just pure good news as Dr Dre The Chronic album is available on streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music. Those are the most popular streaming platforms every artist looks up to.
Dr Dre, last year wanted to do this in December, however, the super hip-hop producer changed his mind and finally, The Chronic had been released yesterday Feb. 1st 2023.
One of the reasons why this album just got the re-release by Dre is because he is celebrating the anniversary of “The Chronic”, the 30th anniversary to be precise. Normally, The Chronic album was officially released in 1992 featuring notable hip-hop rappers.
Some of the popular hit songs from the album include “Nuthin’ but a ‘G’ Thang” and “Let Me Ride.” It featured rapper Snoop Dogg who well know as one of Dr Dre’s friends. Dogg along with Ruben and Jewell on vocals — won Dr. Dre his first Grammy in 1994.
Already, Snoop Dogg who is now the CEO of Death Row records removed The Chronic from major streaming platforms after he purchased the record label. Although he has given his reasons why he did that.
“First thing I did was snatch all the music off those platforms traditionally known to people, because those platforms don’t pay,” he said. “And those platforms get millions of millions of streams, and nobody gets paid other than the record labels. So what I wanted to do is snatch my music off, create a platform similar to Amazon, Netflix, Hulu. It’ll be a Death Row app, and the music, in the meantime, will live in the metaverse.”
So, if you don’t have Spotify account then you should create one and listen to the full songs from The Chronic album. Now, was there any change made to the album? Well, the Iconic album has remained unchanged with its 16 solid tracks.
What are other new things about Chronic? It came with hoodie and t-shirts just as merchandise and you can also check it out on the official webpage. Fans are happy once again to see this album re-installed back to streaming platforms.
According to AP: “Dre’s solo career all started with the ‘The Chronic,’ one of the most celebrated recordings of all time,” said Steve Berman, vice chairman of Interscope Geffen A&M. He called Dre one of the most groundbreaking artists in the modern era.
