ASAP Rocky Charged With Felony Assault
ASAP Rocky’s case wasn’t forgotten, has been charged with at least felonies citing his actions. That was last year it was reported that Rocky pulled a gun on a former friend and firing in Hollywood in November last year.
While the case been on a end, it has been resumed and the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has charged the 33-year-old rapper, whose legal name is Rakim Athelaston Mayers, with two counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, according to reports.
According to the report, ASAP Rocky pointed his gun at the victim who went into an altercation with him. Though he fired the gun which left the victim with injuries but didn’t shoot him to death. The victim has been revealed to be the formal Mob member where Rocky also belongs to. His name is A$AP Relli.
“Discharging a gun in a public place is a serious offense that could have ended with tragic consequences not only for the person targeted but also for innocent bystanders visiting Hollywood,” said Dist. Atty. George Gascón in announcing the charges. “My office conducted a thorough review of the evidence in this case and determined that the addition of a special firearm allegation was warranted.”
Rocky has not entered a plea to the charges. Rocky along with two other men fled the scene after he fired the gun, police said. He was first arrested for the incident at LAX on April 20, and was released on bail the same day.
