In honor of the fifth anniversary of Eminem’s Kamikaze Album, the rap icon has launched an exclusive Kamikaze capsule, featuring limited-edition merchandise and fresh artwork. 

Announced via email on Thursday (August 31), this special collection includes a variety of branded clothing items such as hoodies, sweatpants, bomber jackets, and bags, all available for a limited time. Additionally, fans can snag a limited edition die-cut vinyl of the Kamikaze Album.

Eminem himself stoked excitement for the capsule with a tweet, unveiling unique artwork celebrating the album while quoting lyrics from it: “Hah, yeah, I’m a f***in’ kamikaze crashin’ into everything” [eyes emoji] collectibles and autographs dropping – for first access http://shop.eminem.com #KAMIKAZE5.

Released in August 2018, Kamikaze Album marked Eminem’s return after the lukewarm reception of his previous album, Revival, which received criticism from both critics and fans.

In stark contrast, Kamikaze received glowing reviews, with HipHopDX dubbing it the “comeback” Eminem had been craving.The surprise drop of the album, with no prior warning or announcement, sent Twitter into a frenzy.

Kamikaze featured collaborations with artists like Joyner Lucas and Royce Da 5’9″ and delved into topics such as the backlash against Revival, the disbandment of D12, and Eminem’s thoughts on mumble rap.

The album’s cover art paid homage to Beastie Boys’ influential 1986 rap album, License To Ill.Eminem, celebrating Kamikaze’s No. 1 chart success in 103 countries and over 434,000 total album equivalent units sold in the first week, responded to critics with a full-page ad in The Hollywood Reporter. 

The ad humorously declared, “NOT FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION!” while expressing gratitude to supporters and playfully addressing naysayers.

Matthew Belloni, the Editorial Director of The Hollywood Reporter, shared the ad on Twitter, sparking a conversation about whether it was the print equivalent of a diss track. In this way, Eminem’s Kamikaze Album left an indelible mark on the music industry, both with its music and its iconic collectibles.
