During Drake’s interview with Bobbi Althoff known as the 6 God, played Tyga’s “Rack City.” @PhotogSteve81 speculated that this move might have prompted Universal Music Group, owners of the track’s rights, to threaten either the confiscation of interview profits or its takedown over copyright concerns.
@PhotogSteve81 elaborated, stating, “Drake paid her travel to come to his location, negotiated where his team would produce, film and control mostly everything about the podcast. He then goes on to play Tyga’s ‘Rack City.’ He specifically leaves it playing and airs a very long clip in the episode which now appears to have been his leverage he planted in the beginning.”
Furthermore, @PhotogSteve81 claimed that Drake’s team contacted Universal Music Group, initiating a copyright strike against Bobbi’s podcast under YouTube’s terms with Universal Music. This maneuver effectively jeopardized any proceeds from the podcast, compelling Bobbi’s team to make the difficult decision of removing the episode.
This theory gained momentum on Twitter, with one fan labeling Drake’s actions as “evil mastermind stuff.”
Despite the speculation surrounding their falling out, both Drake and Bobbi Althoff have maintained a conspicuous silence, exacerbated by their decision to unfollow each other on Instagram.
As the rumor mill continued to churn, Althoff refuted allegations of a romantic liaison with Drake and a secret divorce from her husband in a private conversation with Barstool Sports CEO Dave Portnoy. She took to her Instagram Stories to share their exchange and emphasized her reluctance to participate in Portnoy’s BFFs podcast in August.
While rappers like Tyga, Offset, and Lil Yachty have graced Bobbi Althoff’s podcast, the future of her interviews remains uncertain amidst the lingering controversy stemming from Drake’s enigmatic episode.
