During her performance on the first weekend of Coachella, Ice Spice unveiled a brand-new song that sampled a Sean Paul song that became popular in the early 2000s.

The song in question is slated to appear on her upcoming debut album, Y2K, thus it makes sense to sample the dancehall and reggae singer’s 2002 hit song “Gimme The Light.” At the Coachella.

“Ya man calling me baby/I’m his poopie like I need a diaper/Big knock like I’m not a fighter/Big Ice I don’t need a writer!” On the drill song, she raps.

Last month, Ice Spice shared two photos of herself wearing a jean skirt and pink platform heels with a red lollipops to indicate that she had finished working on the previously mentioned record. The caption of the post was brief and read, “I finished recording y2k the album ~.^.”

Although there isn’t a set release date for the project, she has provided tidbits of information about it throughout the previous few months.

The Bronx rapper said that the album’s title is a reference to her birthdate of January 1, 2000, during an appearance on The Today Show earlier this year. Ice spice also dropped a clue that the project will have at least one significant collaboration.

“I have an insane partnership that was finalized approximately two days ago,” she stated, exercising caution before disclosing additional information.

Anticipation for Y2K was heightened in December when RIOTUSA announced that it will feature more “classic” content.

“People should be aware that I record and produce music as well, so keep an eye out for my work,” he stated in a live Q&A hosted by Billboard. “In 2024, keep an eye out for fresh classics featuring Ice.” We are currently working on her debut record.
