How Much is Drake’s Net Worth?

Drake’s Current Net Worth Analysis Shows that Drake is a $250 million-rich rapper, producer, and actor who was born in Canada. Drake routinely ranks among the highest-paid performers worldwide. Drake had an appearance on the popular Canadian television series “Degrassi: The Next Generation” to launch his acting career.

But it was music that would give him a global household name, and he has been composing or recording hit song after hit song since 2006. He hasn’t stopped since his first studio album, “Thank Me Later,” peaked at number one on the hip-hop charts in 2010. In addition to touring nonstop and making appearances on numerous music programs and award shows, he has generally concentrated on expanding his fan base.

Before taxes and living expenses, Drake has made about $430 million in his career since he initially became well-known.

Drake made $45 million from June 2017 to June 2018. He made a total of $95 million in 2017. He made $75 million between June 2018 and June 2019. Over the next 12 months, he made $50 million. For a complete breakdown of Drake’s yearly earnings by year, scroll down.

Contract with Universal Music Group
During the Q1 earnings call in May 2022, Universal Music Group announced that Drake had been re-signed to a “long-term worldwide partnership.” What was included in the agreement was “recorded music to music publishing, film, television, and brands.”

This contract has been mentioned in a handful of Drake’s lyrics. There was a song in which he rapped about signing a contract that required “360 up front.” Universal’s statement has led some to interpret that line as implying he received $360 million up front from the deal. The deal is valued at $400 million or more, according to other reports. The corporation had been making $50 million a year from Drake’s music catalogue alone in the years before he signed.

Drake might have received $200 million up front after taxes if the deal had really been worth $400 million after taxes.

Drake’s Early Life

On October 24, 1986, Aubrey Drake Graham was born in Toronto, Canada. During his career, Dennis, Drake’s father, played as a drummer with artists such as Jerry Lee Lewis. Sandra, sometimes known as Sandi, Drake’s mother, was a florist and English teacher. Drake had a proper Bar Mitzvah party and went to a Jewish day school.

When Aubrey was five years old, Sandi and Dennis got divorced. His father later relocated to Memphis, where he was caught and imprisoned for a number of years on drug-related charges. Despite spending every summer (when his father wasn’t in prison) with his father in Memphis, Aubrey continued to live with his mother in Toronto. Drake would go on to say that Dennis was not present when he was a child, which Dennis has strongly refuted and said was made up to sell records.

Drake and his mother resided on the lower half of a two-story townhouse in the upscale Forest Hill area starting in sixth grade. Drake lived in the basement, while his mother occupied the street-level apartment. They were poor; in fact, they had very little money.

Drake discovered a talent for acting and singing while he was a student at Forest Hill Collegiate Institute. Later, he went to Vaughan Road Academy, where his religious and bi-racial heritage led to bullying. After a period of dropping out, he eventually graduated in 2012.

Degrassi

Drake was able to secure a role on the popular Canadian teen drama television series “Degrassi: The Next Generation” at the age of 15 thanks to the assistance of his childhood friend’s father, an acting agency.

He portrayed Jimmy Brooks in the show, a basketball player who was shot by a classmate and subsequently became crippled. He made cameos in 2008 and was a cast member from seasons 1 through 7.

Drake’s mother fell ill and was unable to work when he was on Degrassi. For years, they relied only on his Degrassi pay cheques. He was receiving a salary of $50,000 annually from the show at the time. After taxes, that comes to about $2000 each month. Later on, he would characterise this era as follows:

“My mum was really ill. We were broke and extremely destitute. My only source of income was Canadian television.

Career in Music

Aubrey, who by this point was using his stage name “Drake” as his middle name, started putting out mixtapes in 2006 after being inspired by rap legends like Jay-Z, who secured record agreements after achieving success as independent artists.

His debut mixtape, “Room for Improvement,” was made available on his official MySpace page and website in February 2005. He was able to directly sell over 6,000 copies. The next year, he put out “Comeback Season,” his second mixtape. The mixtape was made available by his newly established label, October’s Very Own (also known as OVO Records).

Included on this mixtape was the underground smash song “Replacement Girl.” The song’s music video was the first to appear on BET from an unsigned Canadian rapper. A spliced sample of Brisco, Flo Rida, and Lil Wayne’s song “Man of the Year” was included in one version of the song.

After hearing the record, Jas Prince, the founder of Rap-A-Lot Records and a producer located in Houston, sent it to Lil Wayne. After being impressed, Lil Wayne gave Drake a call and asked him to go to Houston to participate in his Tha Carter III tour. Drake and Wayne composed and recorded a number of songs throughout the tour, such as “Brand New,” “Forever,”

Young Money Entertainment

Contrary to popular belief, Drake was not yet signed to Wayne’s record label. “So Far Gone,” his third mixtape, was released in 2009. On his OVO website, he made the mixtape available for free download. Omarion, Lloyd, Trey Songz, Bun B, and Lil Wayne all made cameos on the album. The mixtape peaked at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was eventually certified Gold by the RIAA after being downloaded 2000 times in its first hour. When the mixtape was finally published as an EP, it won the 2010 Juno Award for Rap Recording of the Year and debuted at #6 on the Billboard 200.

Drake, who remained an independent artist, was suddenly much sought after in the music business. Several labels fought to sign him in the ensuing bidding war. It has been said that the desperation is “the biggest bidding war in music history,” however this has not been verified.
