Ice Spice to make acting debut in Spike Lee High & Low
Ice Spice is scheduled to make her acting debut in the upcoming English version of High & Low, directed by Spike Lee.
In a report released on Wednesday, April 10, Variety verified the news and said that Denzel Washington’s movie is currently in development. The project is a collaboration between A24 and Apple Original Films, with a theatrical release scheduled prior to its release on AppleTV+.
The Ed McBain book King’s Ransom, which describes the tale of a businessman who goes bankrupt after paying kidnappers a ransom, served as the inspiration for the 1963 Japanese crime movie.
When Spike Lee and Ice Spice met in Brooklyn in February and posted about it on social media, many fans assumed that a romantic relationship was developing between them. But there were also a lot of jokes about the meeting.
One user commented, “Now Spike [laughing face emojis],” in response to the seasoned filmmaker who captioned the photo, “Yesterday Da Boogie Down Bronx made a visit to Brooklyn.”
The director responded, seemingly taking offence by the comment, saying, “Git Ya Mind Outta Da Gutter [surprised face emoji].”
“No, it’s not,” the fan answered. “It’s just a combination I didn’t anticipate.”
Would the Bronx native have seen Spike’s 1989 blockbuster Do The Right Thing? inquired another social media user.
“That’s a yes,” he answered.
In other events, several of Ice Spice’s and Central Cee’s followers claimed that the rap duo would form a cute Hip Hop power couple after they recently visited the studio together.
The rapper from New York City shared pictures of herself and Cench in front of a mixing desk on Instagram last week, putting her renowned posterior on full show with her back to the camera.
Ice Spice posted a simple “alright” remark for the slideshow, while her British counterpart posted a photo of the group with the caption, “Lord forgive me as I’m a sinner,” on his own Instagram profile.
